Gucci Garden Florence: The Complete Guide to Museum and Boutique

Visitors move on two floors passing through six rooms that host very specific works and articles:

• Détournement: the heart of the room is represented by a mural depicting a dragon, floral elements and the Gucci brand painted in red, between the horns. It is a sort of fantastic creature created by Yuko Higuchi, a Japanese artist;
• Bagology: it is an authentic journey through the history of Gucci bags, from the 1950s to today. A journey that we take by observing some iconic models;
• Cosmorama: room based on the theme of travel;
• Ourobros: we move to the second floor starting from an environment that pays homage to the natural world;
• Cosmic Colours: in this case the common thread of the room is linked to the most important, iconic and used colours in Gucci creations;
• Jardin d’hiver: the theme of nature returns in this environment covered with wallpaper that gives the guest the sensation of being in a real garden thanks to drawings depicting plants, flowers, branches, shrubs and leaves painted on a white background.

The permanent rooms define the true essence of the Gucci Garden in Florence.

Next to them, there are alternating period rooms that host temporary exhibitions dedicated to specific themes, worlds or artists belonging to various fields.

The exhibition Il Maschile – Androgynus Mind, Eclectic Body, allows you to discover and understand the way in which Gucci has conceived and redefined men’s fashion over the decades.

The period room completes a space where each room is declined in an artistic sense, accompanying the visitor through a narrative that never stops: even the landings and corridors are enriched by works of art and murals that pay homage to the work of Gucci or the city of Florence.

Art and location are constant protagonists: the Gucci Family, from the very beginning, has allocated and continues to allocate half of the proceeds from the sale of tickets to the Gucci Museum to the city of Florence for the restoration of local artistic works.

Inside the Museum there are also:

• A chamber cinema where you can admire experimental films;
• A period room dedicated to Bjork, an Icelandic singer;
• The Gucci Osteria Restaurant, led by Colombian Chef Ana Karime Lopez under the aegis of Massimo Bottura;
• A Bookshop;
• A boutique.
